The gulch is on fire AGAIN!

This is there water truck refilling one of the fire trucks.
..................................................................................................................................................................
So yesterday afternoon about 4:00pm I was playing on the puter and heard sirens, They kept getting closer and closer and closer. So I went outside and to my surprise had a yard full of fire trucks. It seems that there was a fire in the gulch to the south of us and they were using our yard to gain access to the road going to the fire. I didn't go down to where the fire was as I didn't want to be in the way and I didn't get very many pictures as I think that I was kinda in shock. They were here almost 2 hours, according to the police officer I spoke with, it wasn't a really large fire. I may take a walk down there today and get some pictures

Lizard eating fresh tomato's out of the garden
She likes them whole and eats them like an apple
gotta love that face!

......................................................................................................................................................................
I had to go to the dentist this morning, and I have severe dentist anxiety. I don't know why, I just do. I only had a few small cavities and actually only took about an hour to fix and now am good to go for another year.
Now if I can just get the feeling back in my tongue and my lips because I'm starving.

Just one other thing if you love animals you need to check out the rolling dog ranch sanctuary.
Its in Montana and they only take disabled animals, some the adopt out but those that are unadoptable live the rest of there lives on the ranch, there are some incredible stories there.
Also if you go to there blog on the right they update it quite frequently.

Update!

We have had 2 showings on our house and have another one tonight.
As the result of one showing the buyers want to make an offer, Our Realtor requires a pre qualification letter in order to make a offer. so it sounds like they are in the process of getting that, then I guess we shall see

Retirement!

I want to Send out a congratulations to my mom on her retirement. I'm sure she thinks she retired last May but in my opinion her retirement started today as it is the first day of school here, and she always had the summers off.
So hopefully mom your sitting on the deck with your tea and enjoying the first day that you don't have to go to school!
*************************************************************************************
Not much going on around here over the weekend.
The boys went night fishing on the river below the Flaming Gorge Dam on Friday night and said they had a great time. I on the other hand had a great night home alone as I got to be in charge of the remote .
*************************************************************************************
We went to Vernal on Sunday as we needed a few things, one was a water filter for the fifth wheel as the pressure regulator had become so plugged up with sediment that we were unable to get water into the trailer. Not sure if that makes me feel real confident that our water supply is that great.
We also bought some indoor outdoor green grass looking carpet to put in front of the door, We are tracking in so much dirt that we are having a hard time keeping up with it. hopefully this will help.
Well thats about all from here I'm off to put ribs in the slow cooker and then off to the shop.

Playing around with my blog

So as you can see I have added some new things and taken some away. Its a work in progress and may change some more over the next little while.
Spent the morning cleaning all the pictures off my computer and it is running so much faster than before I guess that what having over 600 high pixel pictures will do, Thank goodness for my Arcos as they are really easy to access but not taking up room on the puter.

My grandchildren have went to the dogs!

We had Chelly belly over the weekend and yes this is her and Odie in the dog bed

Lizard and her mom stopped by on Friday and yes you guessed it right to the dog bed she went
1. We had a pretty good weekend. Took Chelly belly to Vernal on Sat as we had to get a few things. I bought her a little people camper set that is so cute it has a pop-up camper, a truck, cooler, camp chairs, sleeping bags, and its own campfire plus two little people oh and a fishing pole with a fish on it. She has played no stop with it since we got home and took it to bed with her last night.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Speaking of beds I am missing my serta perfect sleeper very much right now, not only because it was sooooooooooo very comfortable to sleep on but because it was super huge. Last night being a perfect example try sleeping in a full size bed with a soon to be 3 year old ( who climb in I think around 2 am), a 2 year seppalla husky, and a 6 month old mini American Eskimo. Needless to say the dogs and the child slept well, Mitch and myself not so good. So needless to say its Sunday evening and we are both very tired. Well chasing a almost 3 year old all over may have something to do with it also.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. My tomato plants have been producing like crazy, We have had so many BLT'S and there is no way we would be able to eat them all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. So on Friday I made pasta salad with them, here's the quick and easy recipe.
1 bottle Kraft Sun Dried Tomato vinegrette salad dressing.
1 package large shell macaroni
2 cucumbers
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
3 large tomato's
1 can medium olives
2 cans tiny shrimp
cook shells according to directions. Clean, peal, and cut up all veggies. slice olives, and drain and rinse shrimp.
Place in large bowl and pour over dressing. stir
this needs to be stirred before serving as the dressing has a tendency to settle in the bottom, quick and easy and a great summer salad. We just finished of the last of it today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. So even after making salad I had 15 ripe tomatoes, So today I blanched them and peeled them and cut them up and made spaghetti sauce. There is nothing better than sauce made with fresh tomato's we ate till we were miserable and I have enough left over to freeze for another night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. By next weekend I will have the same amount and some bell peppers so looks like fresh salsa to me.

What will we do!

Since deciding to sell the business and the house The question we get asked the most is what will you do and where will you go. Well we do have a plan. We do know eventually we will need to have a place to stay on a more permanent basis. These are pictures of some property we are looking at to purchase with the intent of building a small cabin. This parcels has 20 acres and is close to lakes, streams, and forest service lands. We will probably run up there in a couple of weeks and have a look in person. oh and it is in Washington State. This is not the only one we are looking at and over the next few days I will post pictures of the other properties
