Baby Bull Moose!

Saw this young moose a couple of weeks ago while staying up Whiterocks. I think this was the first summer he was on his own and he wasn't afraid of us, the dogs, or the truck.
The first day that we seen him he was in the middle of the road and chose to just stand there rather than move. Of course I didn't have my camera with me. But the next day he was next to the road in the beaver pond.

We were hoping to go back up the canyon for a few more days, but the weather has turned off cold. The weather forecast is calling for cold and wet for the next 10 days so our time in the mountains may be over for this season.

I have tons of pictures that I have taken over the summer and haven't posted I will be going through them in the next few days and hopefully will have something to post.

A Perfect Fall Weekend!

We spent a wonderful long weekend up Rock Creek. The weather was perfect, with warm days and cool nights. The boys didn't get a deer but the kids, dogs, and adults all had a great time

The big girls painted a happy birthday sign for Lizard and also made homemade presents of painted rocks for her

He's home!

Baby James is home and doing well. Lizard is adjusting to having a new baby brother and is now trying to be helpful by putting a blanket on him, giving him his binky, and patting him. She has had a couple of meltdowns but hopefully in the next few days she will realize he is a good thing.

We are headed for Montana this afternoon and will be back next week sometime.

He is Here! finally

Little James arrived this morning at 10:23am .
Ok so he is not exactly little he weighed in at 8lb's 3oz's
and is 21 and 3/4's long.
I don't have pics yet but will have them by tonight.

We had a beautiful sunset last night I just caught the tail end of it when I took the dogs out

This is what caught my eye is the west side of the tree's had all turned red. Its was pretty cool and something I don't ever remember ever seeing.

Still no baby!

And I need a new project! lol
