Spring

Odin enjoying the spring rain

Now this is the life
Rocky's favorite spot

We don't have spring season, we have cement season and its that time of year again
The hookups are in for the fifth wheel finally, had the mulch delivered this morning for it

Here's what we did over the weekend

My freshly painted hallway
The new vertical blind ( this picture sucks but you get the idea)

The rocket man
The new lazy boy!

So your wondering what I have been up to for the last month, I have been spring cleaning

Here's my list of finished projects

1. carpets cleaned (we have way to much carpet by the way)

2. hallway painted (only took me 2 years to get to it)

3. windows washed, found we have 2 leaking windows that have been leaking for some time if it ever warms up we will have to get those re caulked.

4. all pictures, wall hangings, knick knacks, dusted, washed, or wiped down accordingly

5. Threw out the old couch with the broken spring and the ugly dark red and green rug, moved the love seat into the library, and moved the glider rockers into the tv room. Mitch hated the glider rockers so we went out and bought the new lazy boy, which we both agree, we love it and bought a new rug, which kinda looks like bamboo that I love.

6. replaced the mini blinds with vertical blinds in the Library, tv room, and the dining room. by the way I love the verticals and I think that they will be much easier to clean than the sucky mini blinds. and I really want to replace all of the rest of the mini blinds in the house which is no easy project as we have tons of windows.

7. cleaned the laundry room top to bottom, which by the way I should of left till last as that's where we enter the house and with all of the mud it really doesn't look like I have done it, other than the cobwebs are gone

8. have cleaned out most of the cupboards in the kitchen, cleaned out the drawers, and the fridge , still need to move the stove out and clean under it which has turned into a major undertaking as the gas line is to short to pull it out so it has to be unhooked, and there is no valve to turn the gas off and since the temps have been so up and down and I never know if we are going to need the heat or not.

9. touched up all the paint throughout

10. washed all the curtains and valances

I have been gathering up things we don't need, want, or use anymore and cleaning out cupboards, closets ect in the hopes that it will warm up and then we can have a garage sell and get rid of a bunch of stuff I have filled up the extra bedroom so this will need to happen soon. I haven't attempted anything in my bedroom, my closet is so full of stuff Its supposed to be cold and snowy on Sunday maybe I will get around to it then

While I have been cleaning up Mitch has been working on finishing the garage, he has the power all run including all the plugs and switches in, the lights up, the garage door opener hung and working (woohoo) and the roof insulated and the sheet rock up, and most of the insulation in the walls done, We received our occupancy certificate on March 31. which all that means is now we will have to pay property tax on it. He also has finished running the sewer hook up for our RV spot. put the ties in around it and they delivered the mulch this morning for it. will be really nice to have a permanent spot to put the fifth wheel when we are not using it.

We also started pouring the cement for the sidewalks out back this last week, as we finally had some decent (meaning warm) weather. once that is done We will put in the sprinkling system and get the grass in.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We named the new puppy Rocky and the reason for that is in his first little while here, he has been stepped on, bitten, run over, closed in between the door and the screen door, beat up by the cats (which by the way are bigger than him). He fell in the trench that Mitch had dug to run the power to the garage and was unable to get out. He fell through the ice on the pond and soaked himself. fell off my big bed. So he was off to such a rocky start , hahaha, Rocky just seemed to be fitting.

Things have since improved for him (so please nobody call animal control) he figured out how to play with the big dogs and not get run over, knocked down or stepped on. The cats have figured out he harmless, The trench to the garage has been filled in, and the pond no longer has any water in it. So were pretty sure he's going to be OK.

He's truly has the cutest personality on him and with all that hair he gets way to hot so we make up ziplock bags of ice for him and he sleeps on them. will have to get some pics of this soon it very funny.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that whats been going on here ( I know this is a long post) will have more pics of the yard work going on and the garage, and rocky and who knows what else .

Hopefully it will include warmer weather pics
