Here is an update on my boots, been beading the border which has made typing a less than a desirable task as my finger and thumb are very sore, (and I can't seem to work with those finger protector things I have to be able to feel what I'm doing) for those of you who have beaded on leather you know what I'm talking about, for those of you who haven't lets just say its not as much fun as you might think. But anyways here's the latest pic, am doing fringe work now and am starting to get really excited about the way there turning out, Now if it will just dry up out side might just be able to wear them.

A pair of Eagles

woohoo
came home and it wasn't my turn to make dinner so I got to paint, here they are my pair of eagles, will get them cut out and get them on my boots and then bead a border around them!

Its Friday

This is what it looked like at my house today when I got home!

Its Friday which means just 4 more hours and its off to the weekend. Barring that nothing comes in between now and then which requires us to work tomorrow. which with all of the snow this morning the chances that somebody somewhere will tear something up and need it are high. Had the boys out twice already this morning to save trucks, so you just never know.

We are planning on checking our water line this weekend to see if it has defrosted, and if its broke anywhere, which if it is broke will require digging it up and replacing it, At least it doesn't run under the lawn or flower beds, or driveways or something, that I would hate to see dug up, That's the good news, the bad news is that our house sits so far of the road that its going to require a lot of digging,( about 325 feet or so) good thing we have friends with back hoe's.( plus its the perfect excuse for everybody to get together) It would be nice to get rid of the hose tasting water, You would think that after 6 weeks of running constantly that taste would be gone. Maybe while they have the back hoe's here I could get the pond that I have always wanted and never wanted to dig.

my eagle

painted this last night was hoping to get to the other one tonight will have to see
painted on leather with acylics

The rest of the story!

So after buying the new mattress We decided we ought to buy a bedroom set to go with it. We have been in this house for two years and there's nothing but a bed and 2 bedside tables that were given to me, we have a huge closet so we have just kinda put all our cloths and things in there and called it good, Anyways we picked out a bedroom set that we both liked ( which for us is very unusual it took us 2 years to put up the deck as we couldn't agree on it) Which has now started a whole snowball effect as I have decided that since I have till the fifth of March till they deliver then I should Paint and clean the carpets, Funny how one small simple thing can lead into a whole project. Anyways will be busy for the next couple of weeks

I did get one painting done last night for my Knee high moccasins I decided to paint them on a separate piece of leather as I may want to keep them even after the moccasins wear out, now I'm dying to go home and paint the other one , Will try to get pics of the finished one tonight and get them posted later.

The new baby is doing well and sleeping for 5 hours at a time at night, which means Mom is doing well too. Lex and Chevy are being great help and Lex is a vigilant watcher for her mother reporting back every movement or noise, kinda like a live baby monitor.

Odin is driving me crazy as he has decided the lawn is a great digging space, Don't know if its the age thing or that he can actually see the grass that has done it. Since we have been foster parents to our sons dog who is just a couple months younger than Odin he's been a much happier puppy but with 2 puppies I think they have been much naughtier

Who Knew!

Who Knew that buying a new mattress was such a time consuming task. Apparently not me. I had no clue what I was getting myself into!
We needed a new mattress, now we have known this for about the last 8 months or something (according to the experts we have needed one for at least 5 years) Now I rate buying a new mattress right up there with buying a new vacuum, there's not much fun in it, And I really had no Idea what was available, We walked into the mattress dept and there were something like 45 to choose from, had I known this I would of packed a lunch and wore my comfortable shoes ( yes for those of you who know me I was wearing shoes) Now if I only spent 5 minutes on each mattress at 45 of them thats something like 4.25 hours to just check them out. Luckily there were a few deciding factors, one was thatone cost $4500.00 dollars now to my way of thinking for that kind of money it should make itself everyday and change its own sheets once a week, which we all know that it doesn't so that was out. Then there were the memory foam ones, made for astronauts or something like that, since I don't consider myself an astronaut and don't plan on becoming one ( plus they weren't that great) I passed on those. The next is the inteligel one, now this just reminded me of the shoe inserts, and not sure it felt natural, so I passed, that knocked about 7 or something out of the running which helped some, I finally just picked the medium priced ones, as the lower priced ones weren't that great, and the higher priced ones just seemed to be that, higher priced, it was hard to distingush these two catagory's after laying around for a couple of hours ( at least it was easy work) I made my choice, then found out that this store offers a 30 day if you hate it return it policy, Now this opens up a whole new can of worms if I truly was one of those neurotic people I could take up to ten years to pick out a new mattress in which time It would be time to buy a new one ( I do wonder if anybody has really called the store and returned there mattress though) I can hear myself calling and saying yes its me AGAIN and I would like to return this matteress as I don't like it, yes I realize it the 20th one but I just really don't like it. hehehehe, how crazy would that be, If I didn't have anything else to do I would do it for the entertainment value,
Anyways I did buy a Serta pillow top that I'm sure I will be very happy with (anything really would of been am improvement over the one I'm sleeping on) They will be delivering it on the 5th of March which has snowballed into a whole new situation but will save that one for another post>( forgive the spelling errors as my spellcheck doesn't seem to be working)

New Additions

Shawna, Lexus, and Opal
Chevelle, and Opal
We have a new addition to our family. My brother and his wife had there 3rd Daughter Saturday Morning at 12:03 am. She weighed 7lbs 1oz, and was 20in long. They have named here Opal,
And she is a darling baby, the pics are her with her mom and 2 big sisters
I had her 2 big sister all weekend while Shawna was in the hospital (there 3 and 6 ) and we had a ball. We went shopping of course (and no I don't spoil the girls very much) We did some art projects, made cards for there mom, we cooked homemade chicken noodle soup, played hide and go seek, and on Sat Kolby and Danielle took them to the park for about 3 hours ( it was 48 degree's out so pretty nice for playing at the park and I had a nap) We watched some movies, played dress up, in which Lexus ( the 3 yr old) did her makeup with magic marker when I wasn't looking. luckily for me they were the wash off kind, They are really sweet girls and were so good while they were here.
I had forgotten how busy little girls are! but it was fun to have them.

I bought a new digital camera last week and am waiting patiently ( well OK lets just say I'm waiting) for it to arrive, maybe then my pics will quit being dark, grainy, and blurry, or they will still be that way but I will have a new camera to take them with. This one has a zoom lens, so I'm hoping that instead of the bear in the tree pics that I've taken that only look like a black spot in the tree, will now actually look like bears, and it has a flash so hopefully the at night pics in the house it won't look like we don't have indoor lights. and hopefully its not to complicated that I want to use it, (not to much to ask for)

I think I have spring fever, I was on the Internet looking at trips to places like Hawaii and the virgin islands and telling myself that a 9 hour airplane ride wouldn't be that bad ( I hate to fly) and the really scary part was there were some pretty great deals to Hawaii with airfare and hotel deals, that I think I would actually go plane ride and all, but we'll have to see If I'd really go through with it
Well everybody have a great week ! for those of you who have tomorrow off congratulations and for those of you who have to work my condolenses!

Yah Yah Yah

these are kinda dark a grainy but you get the idea

I know its been a long time since I have had a new entry, and its not like I haven't had a lot to write about, but just haven't had the time or the energy to do it.

So here goes Its actually been over 32 degrees now for 5 days in a row! That's a a actual jump of something like 66 degrees from the all time low so even though its on 1 degree above freezing it feels really good, can wear just one shirt and a coat instead of 3 shirts and a coat.

We had an employee who was trying to say he was hurt on the job last March, and trying to get the labor commission to make our business pay for it, turns out on the day that he claimed he was hurt when I pulled his time card that he signed he wasn't even at work that day, well anyways we got the word on Tues that the labor commission had thrown his case out, so whooo hooo, I hope he reads this and knows how dumb I think he is and how happy I am for the judges decision!

We bought our 16 1/2 year old her first car, she's ecstatic its a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, it has a few dings some scratches and such, but it runs good and gets something like 28 miles to the gallon, luckily she's not one of those kids that cares what it looks like only that it gets her from point a to point b. ( as for me I'm happy I don't have to run her from point a to point b anymore)

And finally we had a poker party Sat night there were 11 who showed up, Not everybody played but for those who did they bought in and the total pot for the night ended up being $40.00 bucks ( not Vegas but not bad pay for a couple hours of playing with your friends) We served corned beef, My brother brought over some homemade beer and his newest concoction, homemade apricot wine, it is very good but has a very high alcohol content you can't drink a lot of it,

The game lasted till almost one with 2 players who were just exchanging chips back and forth with no winner in sight, they finally called it a draw and split the pot. around here the rules are whoever deals gets to choose the game so there were many different kinds of poker played with those who got out getting on the flight simulator , so there was something for everybody to do, We all had so much fun that were doing it again this Sat, will let you know how it goes
