As of about 4:00pm yesterday we once again have water!
You don't realize how much you need water till you don't have it! Just making a pot of coffee becomes a major ordeal, not to mention all of the other things you do with water, flushing for instance. We were unable to get the main line defrosted so to speak so we are now living with 325 feet of garden hose and water we have to leave running all of the time to keep it from freezing, not to worry the city assures us that we won't be charged for the extra water usage as it was there meter that froze in the first place that got us here.
I took a very long, very hot bath last night that I have to say was incredible ( OK that's just the 4 days with out water talking) but it was really nice not to have to haul, or heat just to wash up.
I'm thinking I'm going to have to throw out the ice cubes in the ice maker as they smell like garden hose, and even with the filter on the drinking water, it tends to be a little nasty tasting, but other than that all is well, we are all washed, dressed in clean cloths and able to make coffee in the morning, and flush the toilet,
what more can you ask for?
